Prof Sebastian Volz at the University of Tokyo Japan and Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) France visited HEG on Jan 13th-21st. He gave two seminars on Jan 15th and 18th respectively entitled "Designing
the spectral behaviour of thermal phonons in nanostructures" and "Near-field
radiation: tunneling and guiding heat". Five tutorials were also performed about Nanoscale heat transport, including 1-
Basics on phonon thermal transport; 2-
Heat in low-dimensional systems; 3-
Basics on atomic thermal transport; 4-
Scattering: Transmission, mean free path and interfaces; 5-Characteristic
times in heat transfer. |
