Prof Sebastian Volz at Univ Tokyo Japan and CNRS France visited HEG

Prof Sebastian Volz at the University of Tokyo Japan and Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) France visited HEG on Jan 13th-21st. He gave two seminars on Jan 15th and 18th respectively entitled "Designing the spectral behaviour of thermal phonons in nanostructures" and "Near-field radiation: tunneling and guiding heat". Five tutorials were also performed about Nanoscale heat transport, including 1- Basics on phonon thermal transport; 2- Heat in low-dimensional systems; 3- Basics on atomic thermal transport; 4- Scattering: Transmission, mean free path and interfaces; 5-Characteristic times in heat transfer.
